Preview: The Midnight Meat Train (2008)

By vrtualme | July 25, 2008

When I was 17 I read my first Clive Barker short story and instantly became a lifelong fan. That story was the midnight meat train, and for some reason it scared the shit outta me like no written word had ever done before. Now some 20+ years later the story (with what seems to be a few huge plot changes) has made it to the big screen. The Midnight Meat Train (2008) was scripted by Jeff Buhler and directed by Ryuhei Kitamura. Two virtual unknowns. It stars Bradley Cooper and Leslie Bibb. Two pretty faces that I know I’ve seen before, but are also virtual unknowns. But wait! The villain is played by Vinnie Jones (Gone in Sixty Seconds 2000) so there’s some hope for this film. Also attached is Brooke Shields, who I just can’t imagine doing horror. But no matter what the negatives are, I still can’t wait till next week to see how this turns out. Official website & trailer…

Looks awesome but I don’t know if the title will pack the theaters - sounds like softcore porn to me :)
