preview: untitled j. j. abrams project (2008)
By vrtualme | August 1, 2007
When I saw Transformers (2007) the other night they previewed this trailer and I just had to share it with everyone. All that’s being said is that it’s a J.J. Abrams (“Lost” 69 episodes, 2004-2007) project due for release January 18th 2008. It’s not even got a title yet; though the script has been secretly run about town under the fake names of “Clover”, “Cloverfield” and “Slusho”. Our director (Matt Reeves - “Felicity” 5 episodes, 1998-2001), writer (Drew Goddard - “Lost” 6 episodes, 2005-2007) and producer, though admittedly great with plot twists, have mainly worked in television so far. And our two lead actors, Mike Vogel and Blake Lively, last worked together on The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005). These credentials have got me just the littlest bit leery, but the trailer is very imaginative and has totally peaked my interests. I have to say this looks like it might be a really great advertising campaign here. Everyone’s speculating over what the movie is about. From what I’ve noticed so far the most common theory is that the monster is “bad robot”, which is apparently the name of Abrams’ production company. But my theory is that it’s going to be the next Godzilla feature.

They’re both related to the movie somehow. The Ethan Haas one is a series of puzzles.

I saw the trailer at Transformers and I totally thought “Godzilla”.
