preview: shoot ‘em up (2007)

By vrtualme | June 29, 2007

Paul Giamatti (academy award nominee for Cinderella Man 2005) plays totally against type in his latest movie Shoot ‘Em Up (2007); due for release in early September. Here he’s a top notch hit man gunning for Monica Bellucci (Persephone from the matrix movies) and her new born baby, but Clive Owen (academy award nominee for Closer 2004) isn’t going to let that happen. And it looks like this mysterious stranger just might have the training to stop a whole army if needed. After watching this movie viewers are writing that maybe Clive should have been the new James Bond. Either way writer/director Michael Davis may have finally found his niche in Hollywood. As he did with 100 Girls (2000), he’s given us a clever and well thought out script; but this time he has matured and applied his talent to a theme that should appeal to a wider audience than just teenage boys. There doesn’t seem to be a poster available yet, but the official website does offer some cool wheatpaste images for you to play with and download. Though you do need to have pop-up windows activated to access them. And now the trailer…
