review: the night listener (2006)
By vrtualme | April 26, 2007
I just got done watching The Night Listener (2006) starring Robin Williams (academy award winner for Good Will Hunting 1997) and Toni Collette (academy award nominee for The Sixth Sense 1999). First off let me say that on a personal level I was blown away by this story. In a way I lived it, but that’s a whole different story for another time maybe. Anyway, Williams plays a radio personality that befriends a teenage boy over the phone only to discover later that the boy may not actually exist. It’s a slow complicated story, but good if you’ve got the patience. And don’t expect a bunch of thrills and chills; it’s not that kind of movie. This script, based on true events, will only leave you questioning everything long after it’s over.
