review: the plague (2006)

By vrtualme | April 15, 2007

Previously I’d believed that if you started viewing a movie with really bad expectations it could only get better from there. I’ve been proven wrong. I’d heard nothing but bad things about The Plague (2006), and believe it or not, it was even worse. It’s a cross between Children of the Corn (1984) and a really bad zombie movie. All children under 9 years of age fall into a strange coma for 10 years only to wake up really pissed-off. Other than that there isn’t much of a story line here. Clive Barker’s name is attached to this movie; I can only think this is a point of embarrassment for him. And James Van Der Beek stars; he must have been really hard-up for cash after Dawson’s Creek ended. All I can say is don’t waste your time with this one. And even though this movie was released just last year, I still couldn’t even find a trailer for it.
