preview: ten ‘til noon (2006)

By vrtualme | March 27, 2007

Opening this Friday is a movie some critic called the best sense pulp fiction (1994). I’m finding that hard to believe, but then again I haven’t seen the movie yet. Though if the trailer is any indication, I’m right not them. Anyway, Ten ‘Til Noon covers the same ten minutes of time from the point of view of ten people all connected with some crime going down at ten ‘til noon. Offhand I don’t recognize anyone involved with this film, which doesn’t bode too well for it. And it boasts three awards, but from film festivals I’ve never heard of before. This ‘tarantino styled’ indie flick does have an official website, a MySpace page and a production diary; all of which I will admit I only skimmed over briefly, because frankly nothing about this movie has caught my interest yet. If you’ve seen this movie and think I’m wrong then please correct me.

an added note - I’m posting this preview in honor of Quentin tarantino for his 44th birthday today. Because sadly even after this shitty review it’s still more likely I’ll watch this movie then his new Grindhouse (2007) segment ‘death proof.’ I guess I can’t really blame him for revisiting childhood memories, but I also don’t have to join him there. Here’s to hoping your next cinematic creation doesn’t look like 70’s trash. Feel free to correct me on this point too.

I agree, it looks a little bland and the Pulp Fiction comparison just makes me even more skeptical. It does have Alfonso Freeman (Morgan Freeman’s son) in it. I had to IMDB that. He just looked familiar.
