best birthday wishes to lili taylor

One of my favorite actresses, lili Taylor, turned 40 today. I, personally, first took notice of her in mystic pizza (1988), where she shared the screen with other new comers Julia Roberts, matt Damon and Vincent d’onofrio. While they went on to star in bigger budgeted movies, she chose to mostly stick with meatier roles in indie flicks. Some of my favorites being such films as Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994), the addiction (1995), I shot Andy Warhol (1996) and Factotum (2005). She’s also had the pleasure of co-starring with some of the industry’s hottest men. Examples being
dogfight (1991) with river phoenix, Arizona dream (1993) with Johnny depp, and (another one of my favorites) a slipping-down life (1999) with guy pearce. But I think most people remember her as Lisa on the hbo series six feet under.
“I guess the characters I play may be at the more destructive edge of the spectrum, more damaged or whatever, but I find a lot of female roles uninteresting. I would rather play someone who’s fucked-up and deep than someone who’s one-dimensional and invisible. I would rather drive something and be crazy than be forgotten and nothing.”
