former brat pack queen turns 39

By vrtualme | February 18, 2007

Molly Ringwald turns 39 today. Best known for her orange/red hair; and for starring in such John Hughes’ (also born on Feb. 18th) teen hits as sixteen candles (1984), the breakfast club (1985) and pretty in pink (1986). Molly ruled the screen and the famous brat pack during the 80’s. Every young girl wanted to be her (including me until I met her in the KROQ parking lot around ’85, but that’s a whole different story.) Sadly she lost “it” somewhere along the line. We hardly hear anything about her even though she’s continued to work steadily over the last 20 years. Maybe it was her refusal to do anymore john hughes films?

Anyway, happy birthday molly ringwald. You’ll always hold a special place in the hearts of young girls everywhere.
