poem: i laid in my morning bed all day

By vrtualme | February 5, 2007

originally written on 04.21.01 (it matched my mood today)

I laid in my morning bed all day
a comatose mess under the covers
my tranquil dreams linger long
like the warm embrace of lovers

my sleepy eyes are slow to wake
this heart feels renewed desires
the sheets are sweaty soaked
in recalling passion’s fires

my body aches in solitude
for another’s touch I crave
my hunger is relentless
it drives me to my tarry grave

with memory of angelic love
my mortal soul does melt
knowing that ethereal ecstasy
a promise profoundly felt
